Squad enforces Easy Anti-Cheat on every official server and treats a missing or unloadable Easy Anti-Cheat install as a hard launch failure, which is exactly what a CrossOver bottle produces. Linux is the instructive contrast: Proton reports reach Gold at 62 percent over 642 reports because Steam ships an Easy Anti-Cheat runtime for Proton, a component macOS never receives. There is no offline or single player mode to fall back on, so the anti-cheat failure is terminal rather than a degraded experience. Steam lists no macOS build.
