Lead a band of heroes across an island overrun by monsters, and take it back one region at a time. BUILD YOUR HEROES FROM CARDS Every hero is a stack of cards: a species, a role and a background, each drawn from three on offer. Together they decide your hero's traits, skills and equipment, and build the decks of features and actions they'll draw on. No two parties play the same way. FIGHT TACTICAL BATTLES Each encounter is a turn-based battle on a grid. Take up to five heroes, roll initiative, and play your actions: move, strike, cast, hide and outflank. The ground matters too. Water shelters you from fire but carries lightning and poison to everyone standing in it; cold turns it to ice, and fire melts it back. CONQUER THE ISLAND The island is split into regions, each with its own monsters, its own number of encounters, and its own reward for taking it. Choose where to strike next, sail to distant coasts, or simply buy a region that's proving too tough. GROW STRONGER Heroes earn experience and level up, drawing new features as they go. Win loot, buy potions and scrolls, find magic items and have them enchanted, and recruit new heroes to your cause. BUILD A STRONGHOLD Raise barracks, warehouses, a wizard's tower, a shipyard, a tavern and more. Each gives your campaign an edge, from cheaper prices to extra recruits. PLAY ANYWHERE Your campaign is saved to iCloud and follows you between iPad and Mac. Put it down on one and carry on from exactly where you left off on the other. EXPAND THE GAME Skirmish is a complete game on its own. Eight optional card packs add new species, roles, monsters, items and buildings: • The Menagerie: the Minotaur, the Werewolf and a host of wild beasts • Out of the Grave: play a Revenant and face the undead • Faith and Damnation: heroes of divine and infernal power • The Fae Green Realm: the beguiling wonder of the fae • The Elemental Storm: the raw power of air, water, earth and fire • The Workshop: the Alchemist, the Artificer and the Gunslinger • Skullduggery: roguish roles and new stronghold buildings • Codex Arcanum: new potions, scrolls and arcane roles Buy a pack once and it's yours on all your devices.
