BattlEye must be skipped at launch, so official and dedicated servers are out of reach, leaving single-player and non-BattlEye unofficial servers only. The native Mac build is real but unmaintained: Steam still carried macOS in its platform flags when we re-checked on 8 August 2026, and the Mac system requirements still read OS X 10.9 with an OpenGL 3 GPU, a 2013 target that rules out an Apple Silicon binary. That build does not launch on Apple Silicon by itself. Coder-256's UnrealGPUPatcher exists specifically to patch out the Unreal Engine GPU check that crashes it, and AppleGamingWiki rates the unpatched Rosetta 2 route Unplayable.
